The October 27 Archive allows the public to understand how the attack impacted individual people and specific organizations within the local Jewish community, within the city of Pittsburgh as a whole, across the broader region, and beyond, to include people from all over the world representing different backgrounds and experiences. The October 27 Archive is intended to be a long-term repository, providing current researchers and future historians with access to records that document local perspectives on an international event. The October 27 Archive was launched in December 2022 by the Rauh Jewish Archives at the Heinz History Center with help from many people and organizations throughout Western Pennsylvania and with materials created by people from all over the world.
